A couple of hours birding at Staines Moor this morning in a cold northeasterly revealed just a little evidence of passage with 3 Chiffchaff, including 2 feeding around the fence posts along the Colne, 30+ Meadow Pipit N and 39 Northern Lapwing N. 1 Water Pipit along the Colne (in almost full summer plumage), 17+ Common Snipe, 1 Little Owl, 2 Common Buzzard, 1 Pied Wagtail, 4 Song Thrush, 3 Reed Bunting, a few displaying Meadow Pipit, several singing Skylark, and lots of Greenfinch and Goldfinch were also seen. On Stanwell Moor, 8 Fieldfare, 3 Redwing, 1 Northern Shoveler and 2 displaying Northern Lapwing were noted.
